INTERVIEW WITH Mr. VAIBHAV KAKKAR FOUNDER OF IIM SKILLS

Vaibhav Kakkar the Delhi-based entrepreneur and given the way to the freshers and the job seekers to get a new career opportunity by educating them a giving them to create the best out of them with IIM SKILLS.

1: How was your journey as the founder?  What are the main things that triggered you to start?

The journey as the founder is amazing and full of different responsibilities which make the journey as a founder joyful. I like the journey of being a founder of IIM Skills because it is full of amazing things and tricks. I like my journey as the founder very good.

I have started my journey as a content writer and blogger in 2010. I have suggested job seekers different career opportunities related to the professional field. Then, this fact triggered me that if I could help them with my blog then I can make it easier for them while launching their own online educational learning platform this will help them more.

So, this was the whole story behind it and this factor triggered me for being an entrepreneur and the founder of IIM Skills.

2: How did you get the idea/concept for the business?

As I have discussed in the previous question that what idea brings me to start my own business. I was a Content Writer turned entrepreneur. I was previously doing the job as Team lead with the Serco agency. I was doing this because I want to more about the Digital marketing field. The job was helping to explore are the possible scenarios about the Digital marketing field. I have done work in the banking domain got exactly the idea about online marketing helps.

I was too enthusiastic about the content writing, besides the job. I was writing on my blog Course Dekho then; I got to the real problems of the student-facing with their career opportunity. I tried my best to guide them and get a perfect job for them. Then followers were increasing day by day and they liked interacting with me and following my suggestions many of them got the best results also.

Then sudden idea clicked in my mind that by launching an online learning platform job seekers will learn about different professional courses like Digital Marketing Course, Content Writing Course, CAT Course, and GST Course.

3: How many employees?

I don’t have a big team in my business. The people who are connected are working with IIM Skills are like a family. A total of 79 team members are running IIM Skills and building this online educational platform as a brand. In total, I can say a total number of 400 people are an add-on to the IIM Skills family.

4: So, without wasting much time, let us know about your dream and how you are making it a reality as a startup?

See, I was always familiar with my inbuilt quality that is interacting with people, communicate with them, listen t their problems, and give a piece of genuine advice to them. I used my quality for opening an online education platform. I like listening to students’ queries, solving them, giving the best solution. Then through IIM Skills, my dream comes true now, I am daily putting my best to give the students of IIM Skills the best approach of learning so that they should get the best career opportunity.

5: What Service(s) or product(s) do you offer?

We provide all types of professional courses like Digital marketing course, Content writing course, CAT Course and GST Course. These professional courses are provided by IIM Skills to the students after the students are getting the career opportunity. This is the ultimate goal of IIM Skills.

6: What was the reaction from your family when you first decided to become an entrepreneur?

Before starting my own business, I was a Digital marketer and Content Writer. I was most familiar with the whole idea of Digital Marketing and Content writing. I was much confident before starting my own business. Then, I got motivation from my family and they have supported me and were very happy when I planned to start my own business.

7: Have you been funded?

No, It is a self-funded company.

8:  Do you need to be a special one to launch your startup?

No, I don’t think so. God has made every human being special. To launch a startup the only thing that is needed is Confidence. If you have confidence in yourself then there is nothing in this world that is impossible for anyone.

9: What qualities and skills do you look for when you hire someone?

The qualities, I see before hire an employee is hardworking, skilled, talented, and determined people because these four qualities are very important to become a part of IIM Skills.

10. What motivates you?

My family, Team members of IIM Skills, and my students, all motivate me daily. They always gave me the best support that I have to do more and more.
